Whether it's for the 4th of July or any barbecue party, this easy and fool proof barbecued chicken is perfect from Sanderson Farms corporate chef, Steve Bonasia.
 

Classic Barbecue Chicken

2 Sanderson Farms Chicken Leg Quarters

2 Sanderson Farms Chicken Breast Quarters

Salt, to taste

Lemon pepper, to taste

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

½ tablespoon Dijon mustard

¾ cup barbecue sauce

½ cup apple cider vinegar

¼ cup plus 1 tablespoon maple syrup

Vegetable oil

1.  Season chicken with salt and lemon pepper.

2.  Combine Worcestershire sauce, mustard, barbecue sauce, apple cider vinegar and maple syrup in a 3 quart saucepan.  Bring mixture to a boil; then simmer, stirring occasionally, 30 minutes.

3.  Oil and heat grill to medium high heat.  Place chicken on grill and cook covered for 30 minutes, turning every 10 minutes.

4.  Uncover, baste chicken with barbecue sauce and cook an additional 10 minutes or until temperature reaches 190° F.
